The Carmel-by-the-Sea Garden Club was formed in 1979 by a group of
women who shared a love of gardening. In 1986, the Club became a
member of the Garden Club of America, www.gcamerica.org. The
purpose of the Garden Club of America is to stimulate knowledge and
love of gardening; to share the advantages of association by means of
open meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications; to restore,
improve and protect the quality of the environment through programs
and action in the fields of conservation, civic improvement and education.

Membership in Carmel-by-the-Sea Garden Club is by invitation.

• A scholarship program has been established to assist students in the

by distributing the donations and proceeds from fundraising events to local
horticulture and conservation projects. Major support has been given to
Carmel Middle School, Piccadilly Park, La Mirada garden, Carmel Foundation’s

House garden.
